Welping has officially introduced the new A Max Series butt fusion machines, a new product family developed for professional HDPE pipe welding applications.

The classic A Series has been widely recognized for its proven reliability and practical design. Building on this foundation, the A Pro Series introduces reinforced structures and upgraded features for more demanding applications. The FX Series represents Welping’s advanced platform with enhanced hydraulic technology, refined operation, and premium configurations.
The new A Max Series is positioned between the A Pro and FX Series. It combines the reinforced structure of the A Pro platform with selected technologies from the FX Series, creating a balanced solution between professional performance, reliability, and overall investment.
The A Max Series covers models from WP160A Max to WP1200A Max, supporting HDPE pipe welding applications from 40mm to 1200mm.
New Hydraulic Power Unit for Improved Welding Control
The A Max Series features a newly developed hydraulic power unit designed by Welping.
Compared with traditional hydraulic systems, the new design optimizes pressure setting and adjustment, providing a simpler and more intuitive operating experience during the welding process.
The A Max Series also adopts the same wired remote control concept used on the FX Series, allowing operators to control key functions directly:
Carriage forward and backward movement;
Facer operation;
Essential welding actions.
Two additional indicator lights are integrated into the system, making machine status easier to identify during operation and helping operators monitor the welding process more efficiently.
Reinforced Frame Design for Demanding Applications
The A Max Series adopts the reinforced frame structure from the A Pro platform.
For HDPE pipe fusion welding, frame rigidity plays an important role in maintaining pipe alignment and welding stability. The reinforced structure provides reliable support for long-term and heavy-duty applications.
Selected A Max models are capable of welding applications beyond SDR11 requirements and can also support SDR7.4 thick-wall pipes and fittings.
Customized frames are available for special projects requiring additional welding capability for extra-thick wall pipes.
Optimized Clamp Design for Higher Field Efficiency
For models from WP160A Max to WP355A Max, selected configurations feature single-piece clamp inserts.
Compared with traditional multi-layer clamp insert combinations, this optimized design reduces the number of inserts required for certain pipe sizes, making size changes faster and easier.

Different clamp configurations can also be selected according to specific project requirements.
FX-Level Structure for Large Diameter Welding
For large diameter applications, the A Max Series incorporates selected high-standard structural designs from the FX Series.
The WP800A Max, WP1000A Max, and WP1200A Max adopt the same level of frame and upper/lower ring design as the FX Series.
Optional anti-slip aluminum inserts are available to improve pipe holding performance in demanding working conditions.
The WP1200A Max comes standard with an FX Series high-performance heating plate, providing more stable temperature control for large diameter pipe welding.
Other A Max models can also be equipped with FX Series heating plates as an option according to project requirements.
